Festivals and Community Projects

Encouraging community involvement and participation in the creative arts

Here at Meraki Arts School we encourage community awareness, involvement and participation in the arts.  Through engaging people in creative projects we provide ways for them to actively engage with their communities.

As teachers and professional artists we welcome opportunities to collaborate with other organisations to provide engaging, accessible art activities. If you share our passion for bringing communities together then we’d love to hear from you!

Upcoming Projects and Events

You can join us in person for our routine Saturday Classes Meraki Create and Meraki Inspire, or see below for when we’ll be making an appearance elsewhere.

Join us for our first pop-up shop in the heart of Exeter. We will be running a number of quality art and craft workshops from the Guildhall Centre. Fancy dress and spooky vibes welcome!

Contemporary Craft Festival

Great news! We’ll be returning to this multi-award winning craft festival in Bovey Tracey again in 2022 . We had such a great time crafting with you all in the Craft Den that we just couldn’t stay away. New year – new theme – new crafting extravaganza!

Past Projects and Events

Meraki may not have been around long but we’ve been fortunate to have already been involved in a number of community projects and events. Below is an overview, but why not take a peek at our session highlights in the Meraki Gallery

Guildfest Rooftop Festival

We joined some of the area’s biggest names in food and drink at this unique rooftop festival in Exeter, delivering creative workshops for families and children.

Young Chefs Project

Art with a yummy twist. We delivered a series of creative enrichment activities as part of a number of health focused activity weeks at St Sidwell’s Community Centre.

Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme

We were selected to deliver a portion of a summer activities programme at St Sidwell’s, providing fun and meaningful art activties for Syrian refugee families in Exeter.

Contemporary Craft Festival

It was great to be part of this multi-award winning craft festival in Bovey Tracey. We were joined by hundreds of children in the Craft Den across the weekend, where we created Firefly Night Lights inspired by the theme of illumination and the work of Eric Carle.
