Meraki Summer Exhibition - It's here!

Our Meraki Art School Summer Exhibition is finally here!

In this annual show we showcase all the wonderful creations made by our young artists aged from 4-16 over the past year.

In most professions, activities, sports and hobbies there are goals to reach, races to win and medals to be won, however art is different as everything is down to self development, individual goals and expression.

Everyone has their own individual style and are encouraged to create art works in their own unique way. That's exactly what the word 'Meraki' means and the essence of what we do.

Meraki (n)= The soul, creativity, or love put into something; the essence of yourself that is put into your work.

We feel this is something to be celebrated and the best way to celebrate all the wonderful works created of our students is to curate an exhibition in a professional manner inviting parents, friends and the local community to experience and appreciate the artistic achievements by the young artists.

Putting on exhibitions plays such an important roll in being an artist, at the same time making art accessible to a wider audience to come and celebrate what has been created and hopefully inspiring others to create, think or just give them a moment to stop and enjoy.  This year we have decided hold the summer art exhibition at the Meraki studio.  We love the atmosphere here and feel it is an encouraging and inspiring space for the students to shine and grow in confidence therefore making it the perfect location to host this years exhibition.

It has been so exciting collecting in all the artwork chosen by the children and revisiting what we have all created together.  We have been blown away by the children's portfolios as they have presented us with artworks showcasing comprehensive understanding of line, form and colour as well as studies from works through art history - all with their own unique perspective.

We would love you to come and see us this week to help us celebrate the children's achievements, we are sure you'll be blown away too! We even have a little art activity for your little artist to enjoy so they go away inspired!

Please find our opening times here

The students are so proud to see their work on display
We have two fun activities set up. Come along and make a hanging rainbow, or paint a star to go on our Van Gogh Mural! (They can even lend a hand with the LIVE painting!)
