Our Focus

Here at Meraki Art School we provide an environment that fosters confidence and skill in the next generation of artists. Our focus is on the teaching of traditional skills in art and design and our experienced artist-teachers support pupils to develop skills in drawing, painting and sculpture. There is a focus on using high quality materials, as well as referencing artists, craftspeople and collecting visual information from the wider world. Young people are able to immerse themselves in their creative pursuits and will be supported in building a visual language that will help them to harness the power of their own unique voice.

Cultivating friendships, wellbeing and confidence in the younger generations

For young people working out where they ‘fit in’ can be a constant struggle. Meraki Art School is a place where creative children and adolescents can come to make like-minded friends and engage in mutually enjoyable activities. Building relationships is more important than ever in this post pandemic world and our sessions are a carefully designed blend of interactive collaboration and personal exploration. Through cultivating a sense of belonging and learning a new skill every week, our students will flourish.

Using creativity to bridge cultural divides.

We believe that creativity transcends many differences and can be used as a means of bridging cultural and economic divides. The joy of self-expression and the pleasure we take from sharing our creations is a powerful means of uniting people through a shared passion.

At Meraki Art School we connect with other schools from all over the world from Spain to India and even Africa. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to meet other young creatives from across the world and to produce and share artwork inspired by different customs.
